- Official Records of the College
What is an "official record?"
Official records of Swarthmore College are documents that have been created and collected by the College, its offices and departments.
These documents include (but are not limited to): publications, correspondence, committee minutes, ledgers and other financial records, clippings, photographs, films, and sound recordings.
For more information, see Records Management at Swarthmore College, including the FAQ page which contains the question: What is a Record?
- Additional records, papers, and memorabilia
The College Archives also collects records of faculty committees, staff groups, semi-autonomous organizations like the Scott Arboretum, and other bodies affiliated with the College.
It also collects papers, materials, and memorabilia of students, alumni, faculty and staff members that directly document college operations, or campus and community life.
- Are there things that are not collected?
Due to space limitations and practical constraints, donations of materials that aren’t focused specifically on Swarthmore College (personal papers, faculty research, etc.) are added at the discretion of the College Archivist.
