Julie Lange Hall '55

Julie Lange Hall

Hall, a resident of Winnetka, Ill., pursued a 30 year-long career in education, mostly at independent schools, including stints as an elementary and middle school teacher, middle school head, academic dean, library program director, first female head of a JK-12 private school, and as an educational consultant. Her deep interest in education led to membership on the Board of Directors of Independent Schools of the Central States, a role as organizer of the National Conference for Women Educators in Independent Schools, president of Winnetka Central Parent-Teacher Association, and serving on the Board of Directors of ASSIST (American Secondary Schools for International Students and Teachers) and the Laboratory Schools of the University of Chicago.

Hall earned a B.A. in English literature from Swarthmore. A member of the Board since 1993, she served stints on a number of committees and became emerita in 2007. She was married to the late J. Parker Hall III '55.
