James E. Gregory '85

Gregory is a partner at the international law firm Lowenstein Sandler LLP, where he specializes in executive compensation, tax, and employment matters. Previously, Gregory served as tax director in the U.S. tax practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers as well as the general counsel to a private company. He has published articles in the Journal of Bank Taxation, The New York Law Journal, Business Law International, Dow Jones Private Equity Analyst – Glocap Compensation Study, and other legal publications and is a frequent speaker on topics involving executive compensation, international employment, and other legal matters.

Gregory holds a B.A. in history from Swarthmore, a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, and an LL.M from the New York University School of Law. Gregory is on the Visiting Committee of the University of Chicago Law School and has served as a Swarthmore class agent. He is active in various arts and not-for-profit organizations, including the New Amsterdam Singers and The National Arts Club. He lives in New York with his significant other, Mayo, and son, Robert.
