Asahi is global head of the Office of Corporate Engagement (OCE) and chair of the Urban Investment Group (UIG). As global head of OCE, she serves as president of the Goldman Sachs Foundation and president of Goldman Sachs Gives, which have collectively deployed over $4 billion. Asahi leads the firm's signature initiatives, including 10,000 Small Businesses, 10,000 Women, One Million Black Women and Community TeamWorks. As chair of the UIG, which has deployed over $23 billion to date, she oversees the firm’s community development financing activities under the Community Reinvestment Act program. Asahi is a member of the Management Committee and serves as global sponsor of the Women’s Network.

Previously, Asahi was co-chief compliance officer of Goldman Sachs & Co and global head of Investment Banking Division Compliance, with oversight for Conduct Risk. She joined Goldman Sachs in 2006, and was named managing director in 2010 and partner in 2018.

Prior to joining the firm, Asahi was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where she worked in the New York and Frankfurt offices.

In addition to serving on the Board of Managers, Pompey also serves on the Board of the Brooklyn Museum, the Perelman Performing Arts Center, and Loomis Chaffee school. She also serves on the Advisory Boards of Glamour Women of the Year.

Pompey, an Oak Leaf Award recipient, earned a B.A. in political science at Swarthmore and also holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
