General FAQs

How do I register for Alumni Weekend?

Online registration is closed. A limited number of walk-on registrations are available at the registration and customer service desk in Parrish Hall, Shane Student Lounge.

Are the buildings on campus air conditioned?

Most dorms are not air conditioned, although classroom buildings and the Dining and Community Commons are.

What if I need help getting around campus?

Golf carts will be on call to provide transportation to alumni needing assis­tance. Call 610-328-7332 to request a golf cart. The College is unable to provide wheelchairs, but information for local medical equipment rentals is available on the Accessibility page. 

Will the College provide childcare during Alumni Weekend?

Swarthmore does not provide childcare during Alumni Weekend. The Philadelphia Nanny Network is a local, bonded agency that operates contractual childcare services. Alumni and families looking for childcare should contact Philadelphia Nanny Network directly at least four weeks in advance for details and scheduling. This agency is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by Swarthmore College.

Are there gender inclusive bathrooms on campus? 

Gender inclusive bathrooms are bathrooms that people of any gender or gender identity may use. Swarthmore is working to make sure that everybody has a choice in each building. View a current list of gender inclusive bathrooms. All restrooms in the Dining Center are gender inclusive and all residence halls also have gender inclusive bathrooms.

 

Housing FAQs
 

On-campus housing is sold out and walk-on housing is not available. Visit Swarthmore's list of local lodging for nearby accommodations.

I've registered for on-campus housing. What's included in my on-campus housing? 

Dorm rooms are equipped with only the bare essentials: two sheets, one pillow and pillowcase, one blanket, and two towels. Bathrooms are communal and all-gender; rooms with private baths are not available. Most residence halls do not have air conditioning. 

I reserved on-campus housing. Where will my room be, and will I be housed with my classmates?

You will receive your residence hall and room assignments at check-in. While we make every effort to house classes together, we cannot guarantee any housing assignments.

Are the dorms air conditioned?

Can I check into my room on Thursday, May 30?

Only 50th reunion guests are permitted to stay on campus on Thursday, May 30. If you are arriving early, we recommend making a reservation at a local hotel. Explore local accommodations.


Registration FAQs

Do I need to register my children?

Children 4 and under are free and you do not need to register them for Alumni Weekend. Dependents ages 5–20 receive discounted pricing and should be registered for all meals and activities.

Is on-campus housing still available? 

On-campus housing is sold out and walk-on housing is not available.

Can I make a change to my registration after it has been finalized?

To change your registration, contact Alumni and Family Programs at events@swarthmore.edu or 610-328-8242. 

How will I know that my registration is confirmed?

After completing the registration process online, you should have received a confirmation email.  If you requested on-campus housing while registering for Alumni Weekend 2024, you will receive an additional confirmation email in May.

If I cancel my registration, can I get a refund?

Yes, please request your refund no later than May 17. ​When requesting your refund, you may wish to consider donating your registration fee to The Swarthmore Fund to support current Swarthmore students. You can designate your gift to a specific area such as financial aid, an academic department, an athletic team, the Student Emergency Fund, or whatever inspires you. 

What's the resource fee?

Registration does not cover the full cost of Alumni Weekend. The resource fees helps cover the additional expenses of Alumni Weekend, including support from Public Safety, Environmental Services, and student workers. 

What's included in the different packages?

When registering for your reunion, you will have the option to choose from a variety of weekend packages, day passes, or you may select a la carte pricing. Please visit our Packages and Pricing page for more information.
