What to Bring

If you forget anything, you can probably find what you need at the Swarthmore Campus & Community Store. But here are a few things you may want to throw in your suitcase:

  • Camera, scrapbooks, Swarthmore memorabilia, and anything else that will make the weekend special. Just make sure you put your name on anything important in case it's accidentally left behind.

  • Help us cut down on waste by bringing your favorite reusable water bottle—bottle filling stations are available across campus.

  • Early June weather is unpredictable. We strongly recommend bringing a light jacket, umbrella, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent. Keep an eye on the forecast before you arrive.

  • Swarthmore’s athletic facilities are open throughout Alumni Weekend. Bring your workout gear, a swimsuit, or a Frisbee to take full advantage. Check your weekend guide for facility hours. Alumni and guests age 18 and over will need to complete an Athletic Facilities Waiver and PAR-Q to use the Matchbox. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the Matchbox.

What to Bring if You're Staying on Campus

Dorm rooms only have the bare essentials: linens, a pillow, a blanket, and two towels. You may want to bring clothes hangers, an iron, a small reading lamp, and an alarm clock. Because most dorms do not have air conditioning, we suggest bringing a portable fan, as many students do.

Children may bring sleeping bags and share parents’ rooms for no extra charge. We cannot provide cribs during Alumni Weekend. Please bring your own if you anticipate needing one.
