Applying is Affordable

We want the college application process to be accessible for everyone. That's why we accept self-reported standardized test scores, waive the application fee via the Common Application or the Coalition Application if it poses a financial hardship, and offer all-expenses-paid campus visit programs for admitted students. In addition, we waive the enrollment deposit for qualified students.

Paying for Swarthmore

If you're a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or undocumented (or DACA) student graduating from a U.S. high school, we don't consider your ability to pay when we evaluate your admission application. Swarthmore's financial aid awards meet 100% of determined need, and consist solely of grants (which do not need to be repaid) and the expectation that you'll work in a part-time campus-based job.

Support on Campus

We support students with a range of programs and resources. Explore places like the Black Cultural Center, Intercultural Center, Interfaith Center, and Women's Resource Center.
