August 27 Residence halls open for new students.
August 23–27 International Student Orientation.
August 27–September 1 First-Year Orientation.
August 29 Advising begins. All-advisor meeting in morning; individual advising begins in afternoon.
August 30 Residence halls open for returning students. Computer preregistration for first-year and transfer students only.
August 31 Registration follow-up meeting for students who need to make a change in their schedule.
September 1 Meal plan starts at dinner.
September 2 Classes begin.
September 2 Labor Day classes in session.
September 13 Drop/add ends. Last day to delete a course from or add to permanent registration.
October 1 Final examination schedule available online.
October 11 Fall Break begins after last class.
October 21 Fall classes resume at 8:30 a.m.
October 30 Schedule of courses and seminars for next semester available online.
November 8 Last day to declare CR/NC grading option. Last day to withdraw from a course and receive the grade notation "W."
November 4–15 Advising period.
November 18–20 Pre-enrollment for spring semester.
November 20 Pre-enrollment ends at 4 p.m.
November 27 Thanksgiving Break begins after last class.
December 1 Note: All accounts must show a zero or positive balance to enroll or select a room for spring semester.
December 2 Fall classes resume at 8:30 a.m.
December 9–10 Monday follows the "Friday" class schedule, replacing the Friday of Thanksgiving break. Tuesday follows the "Thursday" class schedule, replacing the Thursday of Thanksgiving break.
December 10 Classes end. The lottery for spring housing occurs.
December 13 Finals begin.
December 13–21 Final examinations are not rescheduled to accommodate travel plans. If you must make travel arrangements before the examination schedule is published (by Oct. 1), do not expect to leave until after finals.
December 20 100-level seminars end.
December 21 Finals end at noon. Residence halls close at 6 p.m. Meal plan ends at lunch.
