Trains (AMTRAK and SEPTA)

The College is readily accessible from Philadelphia by train. Amtrak trains from New York and Washington, D.C., arrive hourly at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. From 30th Street Station, the SEPTA Media/Wawa rail line takes 25 minutes to reach the Swarthmore station. The last train to Swarthmore from 30th Street Station leaves at 12:02 a.m. on weekdays and at 11:46 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Philadelphia International Airport

The SEPTA Airport Express train runs from Philadelphia International Airport to Center City Philadelphia, where travelers can transfer to the SEPTA Media/Wawa rail line to the Swarthmore station.

Taxi

Taxi service from Philadelphia Airport to Swarthmore is available. The fare from the airport to the campus is approximately $20, and the trip takes about 20 minutes.

Buses 

The Greyhound Bus Station is at Filbert and 10th streets in Philadelphia, beside SEPTA’s Jefferson Station for connections to the Media/Wawa regional rail line to the Swarthmore station. Septa Bus 109, which stops at Swarthmore, transits between the 69th Street Transit Center and Chester Transit Center. Learn more.

Tri-Co Shuttle

Swarthmore, Bryn Mawr, and Haverford offer a shuttle service connecting the three campuses. This service is only available for transportation among the Tri-College campuses. There are no other scheduled stops. View the Tri-Co Van Schedule.
