Trains (AMTRAK and SEPTA)
The College is readily accessible from Philadelphia by train. Amtrak trains from New York and Washington, D.C., arrive hourly at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. From 30th Street Station, the SEPTA Media/Elwyn rail line takes 25 minutes to reach the Swarthmore station. The last train to Swarthmore from 30th Street Station leaves at 12:07 a.m. on weekdays and at 1 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Greyhound Bus Station is at Filbert and 10th streets in Philadelphia, beside SEPTA’s Jefferson Station for connections to the Media/Elwyn regional rail line to the Swarthmore station. BoltBus offers non-stop bus transportation with fares as low as $1 between New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., among other stops along the northeast corridor. The outdoor stop on JFK Blvd. is about a 2 minute walk from 30th Street Station for connections to the Media/Elwyn regional rail line to the Swarthmore station. Swarthmore, Bryn Mawr, and Haverford offer a shuttle service connecting the three campuses. This service is only available for transportation among the Tri-College campuses. There are no other scheduled stops. View the Tri-Co Van Schedule.
