THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT QUIZ

The correct response to Question #2 is : FALSE

A supervisor should NEVER promise to keep a harassment problem confidential. Managers and supervisors always have a responsibility to inform the appropriate College administrators of claims of harassment and discrimination to ensure an appropriate response to the situation. Managers should advise employees that their complaint will be handled privately and will only be revealed on a "need to know basis" in order to effectively resolve the concern.

In fact, all employees are required to report sexual misconduct and suspected child abuse immediately. Reports can be made to Public Safety or by contacting the personnel listed on the College's Non-Discrimination and Equal Opportunity page.

Anonymous reports of any wrongdoing can also be made to the toll-free Swarthmore College hotline: (866) 292-7713. This hotline is managed by an outside company and is available 24/7.
