Anne Schuchat '80, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is leading that agency's response to the H1N1 influenza. In a recent interview on 60 Minutes she shared that "The best way to reduce your chances of a terrible outcome is to be vaccinated." She also emphasized the safety of the vaccination: "The vaccine against H1NI influenza is made just like the seasonal flu vaccines. About 100 million people get the seasonal flu vaccine each year and they have a very good safety track record." more
