Listen:  Assistant Professor of Political Science Ben Berger says the "time is right to strike now" on health care, but that time must also be made to fully inform the public about what changes are being proposed.

"It's enormous, and the legislators are saying they don't fully understand it," he recently said on WHYY's Radio Times. "So I think some time to discuss it is acually appropriate."

In addition to health care reform, Berger also discussed a series of other  topics in a wide-ranging political discussion, including Sonia Sotomayor's supreme court nomination and Sarah Palin's resignation as governor of Alaska. more

Berger is an authority in modern political theory, with special concentration on the work of Alexis de Tocqueville and Hannah Arendt. His expertise extends beyond theory to the practice of democratic politics: citizen participation, civic engagement, ethics in politics, and the advantages as well as challenges of community-based learning.
