This spring marks the tenth year of the Lifelong Learning Program, founded by Susan Lippincott Professor Emeritus of Modern and Classical Languages Gil Rose (left) to extend Swarthmore's educational outreach. "What began as a sheer experiment has really proven itself," Rose says.
On campus, offerings will include a century of American short stories, taught by Philip Weinstein, Alexander Griswold Cummins Professor of Literature, and astrobiology, taught by Professor of Biology Amy Cheng Vollmer and and Eric Jensen, associate professor of astronomy. Tolstoy's War and Peace, taught by Professor Emeritus of Russian Thompson Bradley, will be offered in New York City.
