John Caskey Discusses Current Economic Turmoil with Bloomberg.com and the Campus

John Caskey, chair of the Economics Department, is quoted at Bloomberg.com about incorporating the current financial situation into his curriculum this fall. "Wall Street's crisis gives students real-world examples of how markets work, and is engaging students in ways that textbook examples can't," said Caskey. "When you're talking about the Argentinean financial crisis, you don't have the same level of interest," he continued.

In addition to his work in the classroom, Caskey has also shared his perspective on the state of the economy with the broader Swarthmore College community. He has offered an informal colloquium to students and a lunch time talk to faculty and staff on the topic.
