The College's spring athletic teams continue to shine in Centennial Conference post-season play, as well as garner numerous individual honors.

Men's Lacrosse - the Garnet men (8-7) received the top seed in the ECAC Metro/South Championship. Swarthmore will host Manhattanville Fri., May 9, at 7 p.m. in semi-final action on Clothier Field.  Goalie and two-year captain Frank Mazzucco '08, a history major from Redding, Conn., and defender and team captain Dan Sartori '08, a biology and economics major from Darien, Conn., were named All-Centennial.

Men's and Women's Tennis -  This week, Jonathan Lo '08, from Honolulu, Hawaii, and Kevin Shaughnessy '09, from South Kingston, R.I., were named First-Team All-Centennial in men's tennis. Jonathan was selected for singles' play and teamed with Kevin to earn doubles' honors. In women's tennis, Rachel Wallwork '10, from Washington, D.C., and Jennie Park '09, an Honors economics major from Rockford, Ill., were named First-Team All-Centennial for both singles and doubles. Wallwork was also selected Player of the Year, the third Swarthmore tennis player to receive the honor.

Men's and Women's Track & Field - Cait Mullarkey '09 and Ross Weller '08 medaled in events at the 2008 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend. In the women's 800-meter run, Cait, a McCabe Scholar from Wilmington, Del., picked up the silver medal after crossing the finish line in a time of 2:18.60. She also earned the bronze in the 3000-meter steeplechase and posted a fifth-place finish in the 5,000-meter event.  Ross, an English and biology major from McConnellsburg, Pa., posted a personal-best while marking the second fastest time in Swarthmore history in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase. His 9:25.29 race-time earned him a Centennial silver medal and was just shy of the NCAA provisional 9:23.00 cut for nationals.

Softball - Timely hitting and another strong pitching performance sent Swarthmore to its first post-season victory in program history after being selected as the sixth-seed this week in the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III South Championship.  In addition, pitcher/outfielder Kathryn Riley '10, a McCabe Scholar from Dagsboro, Del.,  and second baseman Christine Sendelsky '09, from Edison, N.J., were named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region team.
