Sean Decatur '90 Named Emerging Scholar for 2007

Sean Decatur '90 is one of 10 emerging scholars named by Diverse Issues in Higher Education in its annual selection of outstanding scholars of color. Decatur is the Marilyn Dawson Sarles Professor of Life Sciences and Professor of Chemistry and associate dean of faculty for science at Mount Holyoke College.  Read his profile in Diverse.

This is the second year in a row a Swarthmore alumnus has received this honor. In 2006,  Miguel Morales '93, then a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Institute for Theory and Computation, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, was also recognized as an emerging scholar.
