Swarthmore awarded more than $45 million in need-based scholarship aid to nearly 56 percent of our students for the 2018-19 academic year. The average financial aid award is $52,814. Financial aid awards ranged from $1,000 to $71,662; the maximum financial aid award includes the College's total billed charges as well as allowances for books, personal expenses, and travel between a student's home and Swarthmore.
