Honors Directing Thesis

The Department of Theater presents Tears of Myrrh, a senior honors directing thesis by Adrienne Mackey '04 , on May 1st (2pm), 2nd (8pm) and 3rd (8pm) in the Pearson-Hall Theatre in LPAC.

Tears of Myrrh is the story of a girl afraid to open herself to new experience, who is cursed by the goddess Aphrodite to fall in love with her own father. Deceiving her father with the aid of her nurse, Myrrha ultimately asks him to find the greatest form of acceptance. Told from the perspective of Adonis, child of the incestuous union as well as lover of the goddess of love herself, this piece explores the nature of love, religious devotion and family through storytelling and song.

The cast features Ben Camp, Sam Dingman, Kate Hurster '03, Felicia Leicht, and Sarah Yardney '02.

This event is free and open to the public, and no reservations are required.
