Student Application

Students who are second-semester first years, sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to participate in the program.

Students in the program enroll in any two of the program's three courses.

In addition to the courses, involvement in the program includes participation in several monthly Philadelphia-based activities–some academic in nature, some connected to areas of social justice, inquiry, and some simply fun. The program will include an orientation session, a mid-semester gathering, and a closing dinner. Students will need to be able to return to campus two days prior to the start of the semester to complete a required pre-program orientation.

Costs for travel to classes will be covered for all students taking Tri-Co Philly classes. Expenses related to the program’s co- and extracurricular programming also will be covered for students accepted into the program.

Application Procedures

Before You Apply

Prior to applying to the program, students must:

  1. Attend a mandatory information session. Please contact Calista Cleary, Program Director, if you are unable to attend an information session at one of the three campuses.
  2. Meet with your academic advisor regarding how participation in the program fits into your overall academic plans.

When You Apply

To be considered for the Tri-Co Philly Program, students must complete the application by Friday, April 4, 2025 by 11:59 p.m. Note: the application deadline is prior to all Tri-Co pre-registration periods.

 

After You Apply

Students will be notified by Friday, April 11, 2025 whether they have been accepted or wait listed for the program. If eligible applicants exceed the number of spaces in the program, decisions will be based on strength of applications.

If accepted, students must confirm their intention to participate in the program no later than Thursday, April 17, 2025 by 5 p.m. If any accepted student(s) decline or do not confirm their intention to participate, available spaces will be assigned to the next student(s) on the waitlist.

If wait listed for the program, students must confirm their interest in remaining on the waitlist by no later than Friday, April 18, 2025 by 5 p.m. Waitlisted students will be notified as soon as a space becomes available.

The registrars will enroll accepted students automatically in Tri-Co Philly courses following application review, any lotteries and confirmation of student acceptances. All students must confer with their home registrars to confirm their preregistration.

Students who do not want to enroll in the program—two courses and additional activities—may still be able to register for one of the courses.
