Auxiliary

Auxiliary is a Gif Art installation that simulates the "connective disconnect" of media consumption. Inspired by modern telecommunications, "Auxiliary" employs an interactive radio tower for participants to partake in spontaneous, chance-based audio immersion. Its performative component situates audiences in a concession-style spectacle that conflates public and private enjoyment. Furthermore, it offers an open-ended critique of self-documentation in a globalized trans-media landscape. Other themes to consider include: media blackness, music video authenticity, public access and incorporating the "listener's choice."
