Chris Ossont (He/Him) is excited to join the Swarthmore Community as the Director of Residential Communities. Prior to joining Swarthmore, Chris served as the Associate Director for Residential Education at Muhlenberg College, where he focused on the development and support of the residential communities and Resident Advisor Program. Additionally, Chris has worked in housing and residence life at Lehigh University, Elizabethtown College, and Shippensburg University.
Chris earned a Master of Science in College Counseling with a focus on College Student Personnel. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership with a focus on Higher Education Management from Rowan University. His research focuses on supervision, utilizing a restorative practices approach to support entry and mid-level professionals.
Chris is actively involved in several professional associations, including the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO), where he currently serves as Treasurer. In previous roles, Chris has presented at regional and national conferences on topics of supervision, assessment, and residential curriculum. In 2024, Chris co-presented at ACPAs Institute on the Curricular Approach on Muhlenberg Colleges shift into an institutional residential curriculum.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exploring new places, and cooking.
