Profile at the Department of Philosophy

Associate Professor, teaches contemporary continental philosophy and feminist theory in the Department of Philosophy. Her book, Irigaray and Deleuze: Experiments in Visceral Philosophy, published by Cornell University Press, studies two French philosophers in the poststructuralist tradition and developes a model of subjectivity drawn from Irigaray's account of the feminine subject and Deleuze's account of the nomadic subject in order to propose a way of thinking about the human self as an embodied, dynamic process of becoming implicated with life processes extending beyond the human. Tamsin is working on a book about a Deleuzian approach to feminist ethics.
