CAPS Outreach
Fall 2026 Outreach
CAPS aims to support faculty, students, and staff in developing and/or facilitating outreach (trainings, workshops, and other events). If you are interested in partnering with us for outreach, please let us know via our Outreach Request Form. You don't need to have every detail to submit a request -- we'll help with that! Should you have any other questions, please email us at CAPS Outreach.
CAPS is pleased to present our Fall 2026 outreach events:
Athletic Team Meetings
Coaches and team captains who would like their teams to learn more about topics such as the ways psychology can affect performance; confidence-building; team communication (and more!) should reach out to schedule time to meet at the Tarple Pavilion.
If you are a coach or team captain interested in meeting, please contact CAPS' Athlete-Focused Provider!
FLI Fridays

- 9/15 - Ready, Set, REST: Managing Stress, Time Management and Self-Care: the Fall semester brings new beginnings. New classes, new schedules and, of course, new stressors. This workshop will provide you with strategies for managing stress, making the most of your time, and prioritizing self-care so you can feel more organized, refreshed, and ready to take on what’s next.
- 9/29 - Beyond Mental Toughness: Psychological Wellness for Student-Athletes: mental toughness is often associated with pushing through adversity, rebounding from mistakes, staying focused, believing in yourself, and performing under pressure, but sustainable mental toughness requires taking care of yourself psychologically. This workshop explores how athletic identity, mindfulness, self-care and recovery, and social support can help student-athletes maintain their psychological well-being, navigate the demands of college athletics, and build the resilience needed to push when it matters most.
- 10/27 - Can We Talk? Navigating Interpersonal Conflict: conflict with people in your life often negatively impacts your mental and physical health, but it can also be used to build more authentic and collaborative relationships. In this workshop, participants will explore ways to regulate emotions in challenging conversations and utilize self-awareness to communicate needs clearly and respectfully.
- 11/10 - Music Has Feet: Meaning-Making and Attunement with Self and Others through Music: it moves us. We move with it. Come to learn how music facilitates emotional exploration and connection. Come to share your own experience with music and how it questions identity, speaks to personal and community struggles, re-narrates past experiences, clarifies beliefs, complicates faith, challenges conceptions of love and care, and inspires you to show up in the world differently. Bring your own music, play it for others, listen, sing, move and be moved.
- 11/24 - Working through Burnout: are you struggling with finding a balance between pleasure, rest, and the demands of your life? Many of us feel anxiety, guilt, and shame when we think about how we spend our days, but there are strategies that can help make this aspect of executive functioning more approachable. Join for discussion of how we can get curious about our emotional experience and use this to inform the choices we make around the finite resources of time and energy. Learn and practice using the Solve It Grid method to find more connection, peace, and even productivity into your life!
- 12/8 - ADHD Symptoms, Comorbidity with Trauma, and Other Mental Health Symptoms: this presentation explores common symptoms of ADHD, how ADHD can overlap with trauma, and its connection to other mental health concerns. We’ll discuss how symptoms can sometimes look similar across conditions, the impact of co-occurring challenges, and the importance of recognizing the whole person when seeking support and understanding.
