Winston Zee

Zee is a transnational business lawyer who was a member of the faculty of Shanghai Jiao Tong University KoGuan Law School from 2015-2024. He and his wife, Peggy Chan P'07, have endowed a scholarship and the College's first chair in Black Studies to support "faculty member whose work fosters innovation and interdisciplinarity" at Swarthmore.

Prior to his role as a law professor, Zee served as Chairman, Asia-Pacific Region, and Member of the Global Executive Committee of the law firm Baker & McKenzie. During his tenure as chairman, he was responsible for 17 Baker & McKenzie offices in the Asia-Pacific Region. Zee was a lecturer at Peking University, School of Transnational Law from 2025-26. He is also the co-author of the China Tax Guide (1987) published by the Oxford University Press, and author of Mom’s Story, Kindle Edition (2025). 

He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1977 and went on to earn his J.D. magna cum laude and LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
