Sean Decatur
Sean M. Decatur ’90 is President of the American Museum of Natural History and the first African American to lead the institution. Previously, he served as President of Kenyon College, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Oberlin College, and Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry. 
 
A distinguished scientist and educator, Dr. Decatur serves on several nonprofit and educational boards, is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College and Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University.
