Jim Sailer

Jim Sailer ’90 is co-president of the Population Council, a global health research non-profit that designs and evaluates innovative policies, programs, and products that benefit the world’s most marginalized populations.
Sailer has also served in senior leadership roles across the nonprofit sector, including as chair of InsideNGO, where he helped lead its merger with Mango and LINGOs to create Humentum. He is the chairman of the Board of the International Contraceptive Access Foundation and serves on the board of Vennue. Earlier in his career, Sailer conducted research at Harvard Business School, was a strategy consultant in the public and private sectors, and served as the director of accountability for the New York City Department of Education, where he led development of new methods of analyzing school performance.
Sailer earned a BA in political science with Honors from Swarthmore. He holds a master’s in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
