Brian Wong '96
Brian A. Wong '96 is an entrepreneur, investor, and author specializing in digital transformation, cultural media, and leadership development. He is Managing Director of Seacliff Partners Limited, a family office investing in emerging technology ventures, and is the founder of RADII, a digital media platform covering Asia's youth culture, technology innovation, and contemporary society. Wong also serves as Managing Director of the Aspen Institute’s China Fellowship Program.
Wong was the first American employee at Alibaba Group, where he served as Vice President of Global Initiatives (AGI), Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman for international affairs, and also founded the group’s Alibaba Global Leadership Academy (AGLA), designing and managing capacity building programs for entrepreneurs in SE Asia, Middle East and Africa. He is the author of the award-winning The Tao of Alibaba (PublicAffairs, 2022).
Wong has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and is a China Fellow at the Aspen Institute. He serves on the board of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the Committee of 100, and the Board of Managers of Swarthmore College, and previously served on the Wharton School’s Alumni Executive Board. Wong is also a member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.
Wong earned his bachelor’s degree in English literature and pre-medical studies at Swarthmore College and an MBA in finance and entrepreneurial studies from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He also holds a Master’s certificate from the Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for US and China Studies.
