Apply Now

You can apply to Swarthmore online via the Common Application or Coalition on Scoir Application.  As a reminder, if you think you will need Swarthmore College financial support any time during your four years here, you must indicate your intent to apply for financial aid when you are applying for admission. For more information on the application process, visit our page for international students.

Note: For those who will need financial aid, only admitted international students need to complete the financial aid application. However, you must indicate your intent to apply for financial aid in your admission application.

You've heard from us, the various people of the Swarthmore Admissions Office, about why you should apply to Swarthmore — now hear from seven Swatties about why they chose Swarthmore.

Learn more about Swarthmore:

The average financial aid decision for international students admitted to the Class of 2026 was more than $77,000 USD. Swarthmore meets 100% of determined need for those who qualify. Our aid offers consist of grants (which do not need to be repaid) and the expectation that students will work in a part-time College job, if eligible.

Our students pursue meaningful research projects supported by more than $800,000 USD in annual grants. Examples of recent student research topics include chromosomal sequencing in a brain cancer study, connections between Mexican national identity and indigenous legends, and improvements to urban public policy derived from behavioral economics.

Residential Community

There is no division between international and domestic students in any dorms on campus and over 95% of students live on-campus all four years. International students make up 14% of the student body and are all automatically invited to join our i20 student organization, one of our largest and most active clubs.
