Learn more about Swarthmore:
The average financial aid decision for international students admitted to the Class of 2026 was more than $77,000 USD. Swarthmore meets 100% of determined need for those who qualify. Our aid offers consist of grants (which do not need to be repaid) and the expectation that students will work in a part-time College job, if eligible.
Our students pursue meaningful research projects supported by more than $800,000 USD in annual grants. Examples of recent student research topics include chromosomal sequencing in a brain cancer study, connections between Mexican national identity and indigenous legends, and improvements to urban public policy derived from behavioral economics.
There is no division between international and domestic students in any dorms on campus and over 95% of students live on-campus all four years. International students make up 14% of the student body and are all automatically invited to join our i20 student organization, one of our largest and most active clubs.
