Kohlberg Hall Construction Delay
Kohlberg Hall is temporarily closed due to construction delays. As of now, we expect to reopen the building by fall break.
Shortly after classes ended last spring, facilities began renovating parts of Kohlberg. During construction, elevated levels of lead were discovered in certain areas of the building. Since then, Facilities has been working with the construction manager and certified hazardous materials testing and remediation crews to address the issue, clean the building, and resume the construction work so that we can reopen Kohlberg.
Based on testing and analysis by outside environmental health and safety experts, we believe the exposure risk to individuals who spent time in the building prior to the start of construction in June is low, though testing has been made available to members of the College community.
All faculty members with offices in Kohlberg have been provided with temporary office space, and all classes scheduled to take place there have been relocated. Temporary office locations are available here. You can find a list of class locations by visiting the course schedule.
