OPEN TO ALL MAJORS/CLASS YEARS!

Introducing our new Poster Presentation Event, Swat Showcase! Hosted by the Center for Innovation and Leadership and the Speaking Associations Program, this curated showcase is designed to highlight innovative research, creative projects, and emerging ideas from Swarthmore students. The event will create an accessible platform for knowledge exchange and critical discussion.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the Swat Showcase are:

  • To provide a formal space for presenters to communicate research and project outcomes effectively.
  • To foster interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.
  • To encourage public engagement with academic and applied research topics.
  • To connect presenters with faculty, peers, and community stakeholders
  • Create a space where students of all class years can showcase their work!
Format

Swat Showcase will take place April 24, 2026 in Sci Lobby from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (following Senior Showcase)

  • Poster displays arranged in thematic clusters
  • 1-hour presentation block, allowing presenters to engage attendees
    • Includes refreshments
Call for Submissions!

Submissions are currently OPEN! Submissions should include:

  • Title of project/research
  • Presenter(s) name
  • 150–300 word abstract
  • Poster size confirmation (typically 36x48 inches)
  • Category selection (research, creative, applied, etc.)
Student Visual
  • Posters should be 36x48 in IMRAD (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion) format, use visuals heavily (graphs, charts), and aim for conciseness (300-800 words) to facilitate discussion.

The Swat Showcase is expected to:

  • Increase visibility of emerging research and innovation
  • Strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Enhance experiential learning opportunities
  • Support professional and academic networking
  • Promote institutional engagement and community outreach

This Poster Presentation Event at Swarthmore College will provide a dynamic and accessible platform for the communication of ideas across academic, professional, and community audiences. With adequate institutional support and participation, the event promises to be a valuable contribution to both intellectual growth and community engagement!
