Heading to the Final Four!

Hello Friends,

What an exciting time on campus! As you probably know by now, this weekend, the men’s basketball team advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four for the second time in four years. They defeated Keene State handily on Friday and won a thrilling come-from-behind victory against Nichols on Saturday. They’ll take on Christopher Newport University on Thursday, March 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The team’s success is just the latest in a string of victories across our athletic programs. Last month, both the women’s and men’s swimming teams repeated as Centennial Conference champions. This week, 14 members of those teams will compete in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C. And three Garnet athletes competed in this past weekend’s NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, with two seniors earning All-American status.

We’ll share more information in the next couple of days on campus watch parties and events we’re planning to host for Swarthmore fans in both Fort Wayne and Greensboro.

The Swarthmore community congratulates all of our student-athletes; coaches; Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation staff; and everyone who contributed to an incredible year for the Garnet! We’re proud of your accomplishments, and we wish you the best of luck in your NCAA postseason competitions.

Go Garnet!
