Watch: Service and Commitment

Across campus, numerous men and women who have served their country now spend their days serving the Swarthmore community. Above, eight of them discuss their experiences in the military and how those experiences continue to inform their work at the College. They include:

Joe Cardella – Public Safety (U.S. Army)

Michelle Crumsho – Communications (U.S. Air Force)

Tyrone Dunston – Environmental Services (U.S. Marines)

Mike Hill – Public Safety (U.S. Army)

Mary Marissen – McCabe Library (U.S. Army)

Danie Martin – McCabe Library (U.S. Army)

Osmond Mbaeri – Public Safety (U.S. Army)

Hank Robinson - Environmental Services (U.S. Army)

This is by no means a comprehensive list of veterans on campus or in the broader Swarthmore community. If you or someone you know is a veteran and would like to be considered for future Veterans Day stories, please let us know. Previous stories include profiles of Madeline Ross '13, now in the Air Force and stationed in Wyoming, Alexander Griswold Cummins Professor Emeritus of English Literature and Provost Emeritus Harold Pagliaro, former Swarthmore vice president Ken Landis '48, and Garnet Hall of Famer Rolf Valtin '48.
