Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering Will Johnson Demonstrates Impact-Resilient Robot
Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering Will Johnson recently performed a live demonstration of impact-resilient tensegrity robots at the invite-only Amazon MARS Conference hosted by Jeff Bezos.
The lightweight robots were placed on a scissor lift and lifted 10 feet in the air before rolling off and crashing into the ground. One day, these impact-resilient robots could be deployed from the air to explore remote environments.
