Eight Students Shine at Russian Essay Contest

Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian Yulia Kim is one of three instructors teaching Russian courses this semester.

At this year's National Post-Secondary Russian Essay Contest, administered by the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR), eight Swarthmore students received recognition.

Earning the gold medal was Lawrence Yihang Cai '29 while Ryan Baldwin '28, Ava Golde '26, Benjamin Goldstein '27, Alyna Martinez '28, and Dylan Zhang '26 all received silver medals. Additionally, Adrian Ferguson '26 and Ingrid Hsu '28 each received honorable mention.

The honored students were instructed this semester by Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian Yulia Kim, Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian Anton Svynarenko, and Visiting Lecturer Olia Prokopenko.
