Associate Professor of Art History Brian Goldstein authors “Ed Ruscha’s Street-Level View and the Postwar Redevelopment Vernacular,” a chapter in Ed Ruscha’s Streets of Los Angeles: City, Archive, Image, Artist (Getty Research Institute, 2025). Through analysis of photographer Ruscha’s visionary Streets of Los Angeles Archive, the book provides new understandings of his artistic practice, the history of Los Angeles, and the innovative role of technology in the archive.
