When will my direct deposit begin?

You can update your banking information at any time within Workday. If you update five days prior to the check date, your direct deposit will be in effect on the next paycheck. If you update within five days of the pay date, you may have to wait until the following check date.

When will I receive my W-2 form?

We are required by the IRS to postmark all W-2 forms by January 31st. All W-2 forms are mailed or made available online by via ADP on that date.

What if I do not receive my W-2 form or lose my form that was mailed to me?

W2's from 2023 onwards are available via the ADP portal. Instructions on how to access these are available here.

Where can I get a copy of my paystub?

Please go to Workday, select Personal in the navigation panel, Benefits and Pay, expand the Pay menu and scroll down to view your paystubs.

How should I complete my W-4 (Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate) form?

As tax and financial circumstances vary from person to person, it is not possible for Payroll to make a determination regarding an individual's tax liability. You can go to the IRS website and use their "Withholding Calculator" tool to determine what you should be withholding.  If you wish to update your W4, you can do so via Workday self-service. Instructions to find the Withholding elections can be found here.

How do I sign up or change my direct deposit?

What is the Local Services Tax (LST) on my paychecks? Why isn't it reported on my W-2?

The Local Service Tax (LST) is a local occupational tax levied on all individuals who work or hold a profession within the Borough of Swarthmore.  The LST is not an earned income tax and therefore is not reportable on the W-2. Your last pay stub of the calendar year is proof that you had the deduction.

I live in a reciprocal state (MD, NJ, OH, VA), do I have to withhold Pennsylvania State Tax?

No, you do not have to have Pennsylvania State taxes withheld in you reside in Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio or Virginia. You can complete your states W-4 and an Employee's Non-withholding Application Certificate (REV-419). These can be found in Workday self-service, instructions on how to access them can be found here.
