Commencement 2016

Directions

Directions to the campus, maps, and mass-transit options are available on our Visitors Dashboard.

Parking

Three lots are available for Commencement parking and two for Baccalaureate. Uniformed personnel will direct you to available parking.

All lots are accessible from Chester Road (Route 320) south and are clearly marked with directional signs.

Shuttles are provided from all parking areas.

  • DuPont Parking Lot - From Chester Road (320) south: turn right at the light on College Avenue; turn right on Cedar Avenue; go one block, turn left on Elm Avenue, then turn left on Whittier Place. Lot is at the end of Whittier Place. Please note that the DuPont lot (next to the Science Center) fills rapidly. Overflow traffic will be directed to continue south on Chester Road and park in the SEPTA lot or Field House lot. This is the best lot for people with mobility issues as golf carts are available to transport people to the various Commencement venues.
  • SEPTA Parking Lot - From Chester Road (320) south, go past the light at College Avenue. This lot is on your left, just before the SEPTA underpass. Available for Commencement only.
  • Field House Lot -  From Chester Road (320 South), go past the light at College Avenue.  Follow Chester Road down and through the SEPTA underpass. As you approach the circle at the top of the rise, bear to your right and turn right into the campus at the South Entry  (Field House  Lane).  Staff will direct you to parking areas.

Severe Weather

In case of severe weather (e.g. lightening or strong wind gusts), we may decide to delay the ceremony (by two hours) or relocate it (by one hour). That decision would be made and communicated between 7 and 8 a.m. Sunday morning. Every effort will be made to hold the ceremony in the amphitheater. Delay or relocation will occur only if conditions are deemed too hazardous to proceed outdoors. If the weather forces us to relocate to Pearson-Hall Theatre, there will be seating for two guests per student. Those severe weather tickets will be distributed at the rehearsal. Additional information and details for severe weather planning will be made available on the College's website and on the Guidebook app (if necessary).
