Palmer Hall

Palmer is part of the PPR trio and adjoined to Pittenger via a covered walkway. Palmer bridges the campus and the town of Swarthmore (The Ville). Just on the other side of the train tracks, Palmer is a quick walk away from the athletic center, Swarthmore Campus and Community Store, and the shops in the Ville. Residents of PPR and PPRA share a courtyard, complete with a grill that often hosts BBQs. PPR is also serviced by the campus shuttle, even though the walk to classes is manageable (about 10 minutes). Palmer houses only sophomores, juniors, and seniors in tile-floor doubles and singles. Most students use the hall bathrooms, which are gender-inclusive. Palmer holds a spacious kitchen and a lounge that is shared with the connected residence hall, Pittenger. The shared kitchen and lounge provide a “homey” environment where students tend to get to know their neighbors and create a strong community.
