IMPORTANT: Swarthmore’s Workday Platform is Now Live, Replacing Banner
Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,
The College’s new Workday system is now live, replacing Banner and mySwarthmore for all functions in Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and Student Employment. You can access Workday by visiting workday.swarthmore.edu and logging in with your Swarthmore credentials. You can also download the Workday mobile app, available in the Apple Store and Google Play.
Your Workday Account
When you first log into Swarthmore’s Workday platform, you will be prompted to complete a “Go-Live Journey” that will walk you through the contact and other information you need to add. A link to your journey will appear in the “To Do” list below today’s date on your Workday homepage.
As you explore Workday, you can use the search bar to look for information on tasks you are trying to complete, and relevant Help articles will appear in the search results. You can also find training resources on the Workday website, or reach out to workdaytraining@swarthmore.edu for support during this transition.
Training Sessions
If you have not yet enrolled in a Workday training session, please do so at your earliest convenience. In addition to general information sessions that show you around the Workday platform, there are sessions targeted to supervisors, non-exempt employees, procurement and budgeting processes, and more. Sign up for one or more training sessions at least 48 hours in advance.
Fall 2027 Open Enrollment
As Human Resources shared on Tuesday, Sept. 29, the 2027 Benefits Open Enrollment process will take place in Workday and will be active enrollment. During the Open Enrollment period, from Wednesday, Oct. 7 – Friday, Oct. 23, you must log in to Workday and make your benefits elections in order to participate in College benefits plans in 2027. To support you in making your benefits elections and navigating Workday, the Human Resources team will offer drop-in sessions during the Open Enrollment period.

This is a tremendously important milestone and marks the end of the first phase of Swarthmore’s transition away from Banner to Workday. It is a significant step toward improving access to College information, streamlining important processes and operations, and strengthening how we work each day to support students and our community. We are deeply grateful to the many team members in ITS, Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Student Employment, Communications, and more who contributed to bringing this platform to the College. Thanks to each of you for your partnership, patience, and cooperation over the last few years and during this transition period.
