Biography

Charlotte Algie is a designer, researcher and educator. Her practice investigates how architecture is produced under conditions of urgency. Working with haphazard materials, found histories, and emerging digital tools, she uses architecture to reveal how form can be theorized through impulse, reaction other more universal constructive agencies. Charlotte founded her practice NN in New York in 2016 as a platform for collaborative design, research, and built work. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Milan Triennale, Yale School of Architecture, Art OMI, Syracuse University, the Melbourne School of Design, and Monash University. Her research and practice have been supported by the Australian Government Research Training Fellowship, the Elizabeth and Nicholas Slezak Fellowship, the Norman MacGeorge Fellowship, Creative Victoria, the MacDowell Fellowship, the KPF Travelling Fellowship, and the Marten Bequest among others.
