Sean Markey, Jazz Guitar

Sean Markey (He/Him/They) is an in demand Philadelphia Jazz and Indie Guitarist since 2014. He has been featured on recordings with The Lucas Brown Septet, Temple University Jazz Orchestra, Nicole Saphos Band and Maria Merenzi. Markey also had two of his compositions featured on the album “Where Wildness Once Was” by Corporate Responsibility. 

Markey graduated from Temple University, Magna Cum Laude in Jazz Performance. They studied under renowned Jazz educator Tom Giacabetti, protege of legendary Jazz educator Dennis Sandole. Markey’s primary goal is assisting students in their journey to really know and understand the instrument, developing a personal connection to the music. Subjects and techniques that will be examined during lessons include Triads, 7th chords, fundamental harmony, exotic scales, chord melodies, Comping, Improvisation techniques, Transcription, Composition and Warm up routines.
