Serendipity Grant Applications

The new Serendipity application will be posted by September 18, 2026. 

As you prepare to submit an application please note the following updates to the Serendipity process:

• Serendipity Grant applications will have two deadlines this fall: October 1, 2026 and November 1, 2026. 
• Applications must be only for future events.  No past events will be considered.
• The committee will take approximately one week to review applications and respond to applicants with a decision after the close of the application cycle.
• Fees requested must be all-inclusive.  All-inclusive means one fee that includes travel, accommodations, meals, and honorarium (unless you have separate funding to cover one or more of these elements).  There is an option to add a reception for a flat award of $250.00 that will be transferred into the department for the exclusive use of a reception that is open to the public. This is only considered when that option is checked off on the application form.
• Starting with the November 1st deadline, no applications will be reviewed for events that happen within two weeks of a deadline.
