Campuswide Bin Information
You may have noticed our standardized “waste stations” around campus! These are intended to provide easily accessible and consistent information about our three main campus waste streams: compost, recycling, and trash.
- About the Waste Stations
Each tri-bin waste station has a green compost bin (with compostable liners), a blue recycling bin, and a black trash bin. We have two models, as you can see in the pictures below.
- Waste Signage
You can download your own high-resolution, printable copies of our current signage by clicking on the links below:
We have strived to make this signage as clear, informative, and easy to use as possible, but we welcome your feedback and ideas.
- Trash “Buddy” Bins for Offices
The trash “buddy” bin set is intended for individuals’ desks, replacing your normal size trash can with a small one that attaches to your recycling can. When you transition to this option, EVS stops lining your recycling can and trash buddy with liners in order to reduce waste. Instead, you simply bring your waste to your nearest waste station when your deskside bins are full. Trash buddies encourage community members to be more conscious about the waste they generate, with the aim of both reducing overall waste and prioritizing recycling over incinerated trash. Some employees even opt to use their buddy bin for desk-side compost!
All new or renovated office spaces (e.g., Whittier, Singer Hall) are equipped with buddy bin sets and other departments have opted-in (e.g., all departments in 101 S. Chester and Facilities). Please contact us by at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
