THE CUT OFF DATE FOR CHANGING YOUR MEAL PLAN with the OneCard Office is Sunday, August 13, 2017! If you missed the cut off, please email OneCard@swarthmore.edu. Freshmen and new students are placed on the Swat Plan, but can switch to the Garnet Plan.

Swarthmore College Dining Services is owned and operated by the College. We are proud to provide you with your dining experience here on campus. Our goal is to offer you great service with the best quality foods.

Choosing your Meal Plan

Descriptions of the meal plans being offered next semester are below. Please read them carefully and make your choice for the fall semester. The cost of each meal plan for 2017-2018 is $3,641 per semester. Please note that all meal plans cost the same amount but differ in how meals and points are distributed.  At the end of each semester you will receive an email explaining how to select your meal plan for the following semester in your mySwarthmore account. 

Change your Meal Plan for Next Semester

We allow students to change their meal plan at the end of each semester. Freshmen and new students can select the SWAT PLAN or the GARNET PLAN their first year.

An email will be sent out at the end of the semester notifying you that the time frame to make a selection for the next semester has begun.

To select your meal plan, go to your mySwarthmore account, scroll down to SELECT YOUR MEAL PLAN, and click on that link. You will see your current meal plan. Select your choice for the next term from the drop-down menu and then click on UPDATE MEAL PLAN.

  • Students may purchase any of the standard meal plans.
  • Points do not carry over to the next semester.
  • Students living off campus may purchase any meal plan. We also have an option designed for students living off-campus which offers 100 meals plus $100.00 points at a rate of $1,000.00 per semester. Cash or checks are payable to Swarthmore College through the OneCard Office located in Parrish when you return to campus. 

 


SWAT Plan

SWAT Plan - Unlimited meals at Sharples Dining Hall with $150.00 Points and $150.00 Swat Points. The SWAT Plan is the default plan. If you do not choose another plan, students living on-campus will automatically be placed on the SWAT Plan. You can use unlimited meals throughout the semester. You may only use your card for personal swipes with this plan. All plans allow for a late night snack equivalency at Essie Mae's Snack Bar . Points do not carry over to the next semester. Points - used at college dining venues which include Sharples, Essie Mae's Snack Bar, Kohlberg Coffee Bar and Science Center Coffee Bar. Swat Points - used at college dining venues or at participating merchants in the Borough of Swarthmore. All meal plans come with three guest meals per semester.

GARNET Plan

GARNET Plan - A block of 275 meals with $300.00 Points and $200.00 Swat Points. You can use 275 meals throughout the semester. This plan allow for a late night snack equivalency at Essie Mae's Snack Bar (one swipe per night which will deduct one meal from your available meals).  Points do not carry over to the next semester.  Points - used at college dining venues which include Sharples Dining Hall, Essie Mae's Snack Bar, Kohlberg Coffee Bar and Science Center Coffee Bar. Swat Points - used at college dining venues or at participating merchants in the Borough of Swarthmore. All meal plans come with three guest meals per semester.

PHOENIX Plan

PHOENIX Plan - A block of 225 meals with $400.00 Points and $300.00 Swat Points. You can use 225 meals throughout the semester. This plan allow for a late night snack equivalency at Essie Mae's Snack Bar (one swipe per night which will deduct one meal from your available meals).  Points do not carry over to the next semester.  Points - used at college dining venues which include Sharples Dining Hall, Essie Mae's Snack Bar, Kohlberg Coffee Bar and Science Center Coffee Bar. Swat Points - used at college dining venues or at participating merchants in the Borough of Swarthmore. All meal plans come with three guest meals per semester.

PARRISH Plan

PARRISH Plan - A block of 160 meals with $500.00 Points and $400.00 Swat Points. You can use 160 meals throughout the semester. This plan allow for a late night snack equivalency at Essie Mae's Snack Bar (one swipe per night which will deduct one meal from your available meals).  Points do not carry over to the next semester.  Points - used at college dining venues which include Sharples Dining Hall, Essie Mae's Snack Bar, Kohlberg Coffee Bar and Science Center Coffee Bar. Swat Points - used at college dining venues or at participating merchants in the Borough of Swarthmore. All meal plans come with three guest meals per semester.

PPR APARTMENT Plan

PPR APARTMENT Plan - FOR STUDENTS LIVING IN THE PPR APARTMENTS - A block of 160 meals with $200.00 Points and $700.00 Swat Points. You can use 160 meals throughout the semester. This plan allow for a late night snack equivalency at Essie Mae's Snack Bar (one swipe per night which will deduct one meal from your available meals).  Points do not carry over to the next semester.  Points - used at college dining venues which include Sharples Dining Hall, Essie Mae's Snack Bar, Kohlberg Coffee Bar and Science Center Coffee Bar. Swat Points - used at college dining venues or at participating merchants in the Borough of Swarthmore. All meal plans come with three guest meals per semester.

Please Note - some frequently asked questions

  • Grab-n-Go Lunches  are available Monday through Friday while classes are in session. The program will begin on the second Monday of each semester. Lunches can be picked up outside of Science Center 199 from noon to 1:00 pm. Each lunch includes an entree sandwich or salad, snack, fresh fruit and dessert. Water will be available to fill your personal container. Lunches can be purchased with meal credit or points ($10.00) on your OneCard. Makes for a great alternative when you have little time between classes.
  • Points can be added to any meal plan. One point equals $1.00 and is similar to using cash on a debit card. You can purchase points if you are living off-campus and not on a meal plan. 
  • Additional Block of Meals - Students may add a block of 25 meals for $225.00.

  • Breaks - If you are planning on staying on campus during breaks, it is important to budget your Swat points and points as you will need them for food purchases during that week. Essie Mae's Snack Bar and one coffee bar are usually open during breaks Monday through Friday in the morning and for lunch.

  • Take Out at Sharples Dining Hall - Take out at Sharples Dining Hall is available at lunch and dinner. One take out per student per meal period is allowed and can only be used for your own meal. No swipes for others.
