Desire started working at Swarthmore in June, 2023. She loves the mentorship of supervising a staff of Resident Assistants, and residential students alike. She is so excited to be at Swarthmore as the Area Coordinator for Dana, Danawell, Hallowell, Wharton, and NPPR.
Desire received her Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Education from Rowan University. She then went on to receive her Masters degree in Counseling in the Educational Setting from Rowan University. While working on her masters degree, Desire had a full schedule, simultaneously working as a school counselor, an assignments intern, and as a Community Director supervising the largest upper divisional building at her previous institution. She has also worked on various projects, including serving on the first ever Lavender Graduation committee for Rowan University, a special graduation ceremony for LGBTQ+ students and allies, and being the Mentorship Chairperson for her National Honor Society, Zeta Pi.
When Desire is not working, she spends her days with her favorite being, her 1.5 year old rescue Corgi named Athena. You may see the two of them walking around campus, or you may occasionally see Athena in Desire's office. If so, please feel free to say hi if you ever spot the dynamic duo! Athena is shy but she loves belly rubs once she warms up. Both Desire and her pup are glad to be Swatties.
