Summer Earnings Expectation

Swarthmore's expectation is that students will work over the summer and will be able to save about $2,500.

If a student chooses not to work or is unable to work or unable to save this amount, he or she may work more during the academic year or may be able to borrow additionally to fill the gap. Students should let the Financial Aid Office know if they would like to earn or to borrow more during the academic year. If you anticipate a summer earning shortfall, make sure you tell us about it when replying to question #21 of the Swarthmore Financial Aid Request form.
