Swarthmore College is one of over 600 members of the Common Application. The Common Application allows students to submit one application to any of the member colleges. Each college may ask member-specific questions or require a supplement to the Common Application.
In addition to the Common Application Personal Statement (students respond to one of 5 essay prompts), applicants to Swarthmore via the Common Application are asked to respond to the following short-answer prompt:
Please write about why you are interested in applying to and attending Swarthmore. (250 word limit)
Swarthmore does not have a preference among any of our application options. Students are asked to submit only one application in an application year.
