Department Overview

Public Safety’s mission and responsibility is to work in partnership with the Swarthmore College community to provide a safe and secure learning, living, and working environment. As described in our guiding principles, the department endeavors to foster an atmosphere in which officers provide a prompt, professional presence in order to remain aware of and responsive to the diverse community in which they serve, while justly enforcing the rules and regulations of the College and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Swarthmore's Public Safety Department operates 24/7/365 and is fully committed to providing a safe and healthy campus for the entire community.  Public Safety is the first contact and first responder for all campus emergencies.
