Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic: Spring Semester
Environmental Studies and Sustainability based in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Courses of study may include Sustainable Agriculture, Ecological Economics, and Environmental Sociology. Internships with NGO Environmental Organizations: Hnuti Duha (Friends of the Earth) and Veronica Sustainability Center. The Centre Veronica Hostetin offers a number of model projects of sustainable development. Credits can count towards the minor in Environmental Studies and majors in some departments.
Krakow University of Technology, Krakow, Poland: Spring Semester
Engineering and Science for Sustainability, based in Environmental Engineering Institute. Courses of study may include Ecological Engineering, Sustainable Development, Pollution Measurement Laboratory, Water Supply Engineering. Internships with sustainable businesses and government agencies. Credits can count towards the major in Engineering, the special major in Environmental Science, and the minor in Environmental Studies.
- All courses taught in English by university professors.
- Czech or Polish language and cultural instruction included.
- Credits for international study equivalent to full-time semester with approval of Swarthmore College faculty.

Globalization and the Natural Environment
Junior year environmental study-abroad program developed by the Macalester-Swarthmore-Pomona consortium in collaboration with the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Students from the three consortium schools, as well as those schools under consortium agreements with the three schools, may apply for the January-June semester.
