For the spring 2015 semester the Stat 11 classes have a group of four Mu-ses who will be running weekly Mu-se Sessions. The Mu-se Sessions provide a casual study space for Stat 11 students. At sessions students work together on homework, study for exams, and discuss statistics. Mu-ses are available for guidance with coursework and as a resource for Stat 11 questions.

How can you make the most out of Mu-se Sessions?

  • Come to Mu-se Sessions prepared. Look over your labs, homework, and class slides before you attend so you know which problems you are having difficulty with.
  • Bring your text book and class notes to Mu-se Sessions; they are great to refer to while completing your work.
  • Don't be afraid to ask for help. The Mu-ses are more than willing to provide support.
  • Encourage classmates to come to Mu-se Sessions with you. It can be helpful to work through problems together.
  • Do statistics everyday, especially on the day the material was covered. Don't wait until the night before to start your homework assignment, work on a little bit each day.
  • Reread your class notes and review the class slides. If there was something during lecture that you didn't understand, ask about it.
  • Don't expect to be able to start and finish your homework assignments during a single Mu-se Session as this may not be possible.
  • The Mu-ses are here to help you succeed, not to do your coursework for you. Mu-ses will not do problems for you or just give you answers.
